Rules for Righters (Rules for Writers)

(Found this in the Capper's paper and thought this was a hoot!)

1. Verbs HAS to agree with their subjects.

2. Prepositions are not words to end sentences with.

3. And don't start a sentence with a conjunction.

4. Avoid cliches like the plague. (They're old hat.)

5. Be more or less specific.

6. Remarks in parentheses (however relevant).

7. Also, too, never, ever use repetitive redundancies.

8. No sentence frangments.

9. Contractions aren't necessary, and shouldn't be used.

10. Do not be redundant; do not use more words than necessary.

11. One should NEVER generalize.

12. Comparisions are as bad as cliches.

13. Don't use no double negatives.

14. One-word sentences? Eliminate.

15. Never use a big word when a diminutive one would suffice.

16. Do not use exclamation points!!!

17. Eliminate quotations. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "I hate quotations. Tell me what you know."

18. Who needs rhetorical questions?

19. Exaggeration is a billion times worse than understatement.

20. Proofread your work carefully to see if you any words out.

Windy Kansas - where else?

Wonderfully windy Kansas.

This picture was taken at Lake Wabaunsee on Saturday, April 19, 2005.

Only a tree kept the trailer and pontoon boat from falling over the edge into the cove.

The remodeled Kitchen

We got the new counter tops two weeks ago. In the picture on the right, on the right of the stove is a new cabinet we added. "We did it!" sanded, stained and finished the cabinet (18 inches of oak).

This is a cabinet that we added to the kitchen that now holds the 23-year old Armana microwave. There is no turn-table. It works great, but you have the turn the food yer-self! It also irradiates the operator at the same time! SO STAND BACK!

Gosh, we are glad that is over!

Snow bunnies in Kansas

another day in the beautiful Kansas Flint Hills.

Have you ever had a snowball fight in April! After a 3 inch snow fall on Friday night, mounds of slushy snow invited everyone to ice-ball fights. ouch!

my flowers have seen better days.

Windmills and Daffodills

Ah, beautiful Kansas!

Tuesday, April 3, 2007 I took a short trip to Wamego Kansas to visit the city's wonderful park. This time of year it is full of tulips budding or blooming and flowering trees. While the wind was very, very brisk and the temperatures in the low 40s, I ventured out to take a photograph of the old Windmill, used for grinding wheat into flour.

Ah, but for the flowers...

Do you know that snow is in the weather forcast?

Quilted Postcard aka Fabric Post Card

Quilted Postcard. This was my first quilted postcard ever made. I finished the edge with a satin stitched seam edge.
